After replacing the $300 crankshaft ignition sensor, bracket plus cable, the bike slowly decayed to the original condition - unreliable. Dying when it was hot, but OK when cold. So I rode the thing around a couple hours until it died again so I could determine what was wrong, which seems to be pretty much the same thing.
So I left it at the end of my street on Sunday and wouldn’t you know it, got a parking ticket. Gotta love Seattle!
So now I have the bare $13 sensors and am putting them in, if they burn out then I guess I got something wrong with the computer causing them to die. I rivetted them on the old bracket and I took all the tools down to replace them on the spot, but I tried starting it first and sure enough, it ran. So I drove it in my garage and I’ll work on it later dammit.
