I know it’s the “in” thing to claim you’re open-minded, but the next person that claims to be and gets proven wrong gets a virtual slap in the face! It’s amazing that someone will say they are open-minded, and then go off on a rant about how they know all about someone based on a single sentence they said. Do you even know the meaning of prejudice? Having a bias without knowing the true situation is pretty much the definition of not being open-minded. I’m beginning to think that someone claiming to have an open mind is exactly opposite of that; It’s like prefacing a comment with “Some of my best friends are black ….”
It’s a simple thing, really, just accepting someone the way they are. If you don’t know them, either learn more about them or reserve judgment.

I dunno, it’s a New Year and I’m feeling like giving credit where it is due! I propose the following two web sites get Of The Year status for engineers:
Samtec because you can go to their page, type a part number in their search and it gives you a pretty picture with lots of useful links. You can navigate fairly easily, build valid part numbers, order samples, and they arrive a couple days later at the most. Even custom parts. Yes, it even works with Firefox!
Digi-Key is awesome! I can place an order at the end of the work day and have parts here the next morning, and they’re two time-zones in the wrong direction. I don’t know how they do it.
